In this tutorial, we will talk about how to recalibrate your Soil Sensor Gen2. If you are a Gen1 user, please visit this link to check the steps: [Recalibrate the soil moisture sensor Gen1]
As always, you need to have the following things prepared:
A cup
Some tap water
Soil sensor
Tissue
Here are the Steps you need to do:
Pull the sensor out of the soil, wash and rinse the probe with dish soap and clean water to ensure no dirt & grease remains.
Update the sensor’s firmware to the latest version. Please place the sensor close to the hub to ensure a smooth update process.
Pour a glass of tap water, place the sensor vertically in the water, and adjust the water level to precisely reach the interface between the probe and the housing.
Dry the probe and unscrew the cap. Press the reset button three times. The RED LED should turn on for three seconds.
Leave the probe in the air for 15 seconds. In the meantime, do not touch the sensing area with your finger or any liquid.
Screw the cap back on and ensure it is locked in place.
Place the sensor vertically in the cup, ensuring the water level reaches the interface between the probe and the housing. Hold the sensor in the water for 15 seconds.
The sensor will automatically record all the information and exit calibration mode. There is no need to reset or re-pair this sensor to the hub.
