Custom wake word on the Voice & Music Assistant Dev Edition?

I have the Voice & Music Assistant Dev Edition (with debug board) connected to Home Assistant.

The wake word settings only let me pick from the built-in list (Okay Nabu, Hey Jarvis, etc.) — no option for a custom word.

Is there a supported way to add a custom wake word to this device? Either through settings I’m missing, or via the debug board’s serial console?

If it’s just not supported yet, that’s fine to know too. Thanks!

Hi, custom wake words aren’t currently an officially supported feature on the V&M Speaker. Personally, I’d go with “Alexa,” as it rolls off the tongue more naturally.
If you’d like to experiment with creating your own wake word, you can refer to Home Assistant’s official guide. However, we can’t guarantee that this method will work with the V&M Speaker.
