Setting up MZ1

In the Third Reality app (ios) I do not see MZ1 available in the list of devices to add . Please advise , thanks

They have another app called the 3R-Installer you used for the MZ1. It is not logical but this is how it works.

Many thanks for your kind reply . Yes , I did already try the 3R installer , it is in a very basic state of development , very clunky , user-unfriendly and I gave up after not being able to get the garage door tilt sensor to link up to the MZ1 . It would have been better if 3rdReality had just simply improved the original app so that it could bring together Matter and Zigbee devices …. after all , that is what the MZ1 is supposed to do !

kjpbrady The MZ1 is a Matter over Wi-Fi device and operates entirely locally. As such, it cannot directly set up automations for subordinate devices; it relies on third-party platforms. Using the Thirdreality app does not add any functionality to it, and the Thirdreality app itself is server-dependent. Therefore, it cannot currently serve as a Matter pairing entry point. The existing setup is reasonable, and we hope you can understand.

I’ve been struggling with the setup of this hub. I had successfully configured it using the 3R installer app to set it up and even connected three soil sensors.
Tonight it wasn’t on the network despite being on.
There is no evidence in the logs that it ever was on the wifi network.
I could not reach it, so I tried to configure it using your app. But, it wasn’t listed. Gone.
I tried to add it back in by using the app. It wouldn’t find it.
I eventually had to do a factory reset. That would connect - after 4 times trying.
(This setup was absolutely horrible. I was about to return it.)
Why can’t I see it on the network?
Why does it drop off my wifi? It is in the same closet as the wifi access point.
What app can I use to easily view the status of these sensors?
Why does this forum require a “Tag” in a post but doesn’t explain how to do it?

Hi, we apologize for the trouble this bridge has caused. Could you please check your WiFi settings and make sure the 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi are separate into two SSIDs? This is actually the basic setting for a smart home setup. If this doesn’t work, please contact our support email: support@3reality.com to claim for a after sale services. Thanks for your patience!
