Nube trying to install Smart Bridge MZ1 in Home Assist

I’ve had an install of Home Assistant for while that was set up just to play with, and the only connected devices were two yolink freezer sensors (and the yolink hub).

I wanted to get rid of some mechanical timers on some lights in the house, and when I looked for recommendations, the Third Reality plugs were recommended, so I got a four pack and the ‘Smart Switch Gen 3 Starter Kit’ with the Smart Bridge MZ1 and switch.

I got the 3-R installer app for android and can find the MZ1, and once it is installed in the app I can add the switches, and control them.

Also, I was able to reset it, and add it directly to Home Assistant as a ’Matter Device" via the Home Assistant android app, but then can’t see how I would add the switches from there.

I see the option to ’add a device that’s already in use’ in , and then it asks me for a ‘setup code’.

I’m just kinda fumbling though this so if there’s a good how to video or something that might help with this, I’d love to see it or any recommendations or other resources that might help

229Mick You don’t need to reset the device after configuring it in the 3R-installer APP. On the MZ1 details page, you will see a “Link With Matter Enabled Services” button. After clicking it, you will receive a manual code that allows you to link the MZ1 and its connected devices to another platform as Matter devices. Then, open your Home Assistant, select Matter, choose “previously added devices,” and enter the code to link the devices to HA. Now you can control the devices from both platforms simultaneously, and any new Zigbee devices you subsequently pair in the 3R APP will be automatically linked to your HA.

Thanks! I think I came across that while poking around last night. Doing a new test I added it to HA again, and then found the share device option in the details and then connected it second to the 3R app, and then added the switches via that app. As you note the switches then showed up in HA.

I’m sure I’ll have a lot more questions as I go, but it looks like I’m ready to go nuts with it and setup timing etc.
